As fashion trends continue to unfold and evolve, it never hurts to pause for a moment and reflect back at who was there to help pave the True Fashionista way. So often we turn to today’s celebrities to show us what’s hot, but it can also be helpful to look at style icons from years past for further insight.
OK, so we’re spending inordinate amounts of time in front of screens these WFH days. When it comes to checking in and participating in your weekly (daily?) Zoom meeting, you want to rule the grid, right? The world may have basically stopped, but we’re still here to search out some True Fashionista trends so, you know, there’s a reason to get excited and face the smiling mugs of your coworkers. It doesn’t get more depressing than this: Like everything else this crazy year, the 2020 Met Gala was canceled, or as they say, “postponed indefinitely”. The classic flurry of fashion, photographers and A-listers dressed to the True Fashionista nines was a non-entity, as the iconic First Monday in May came and went with eerie silence at New York’s currently shuttered Metropolitan Museum of Art.
