FALL 2021 FASHION TRENDS: BOLD COLORS

Neutral was the deal for a while. We did enjoy our browns and beiges, but as all things must change, designers were ready to move on too. No doubt fueling the reemergence of brights was the Pantone Institute’s declaration in February that Illuminating (Yellow) was one of its Colors of the Year. We guess that decision just opened the proverbial Pandora’s Box.

You’ll light up the party in an outfit rocking Pantone’s slate of bold colors this fall like Mykonos Blue, Leprechaun, Fuchsia Fedora, Pale Rosette, Fire Whirl, and Rhodoniteto complement Illuminating. Louis VuittonJason WuTory Burch, and Markarian’s Alexandra O’Neill are among the throng making bold big again in these hues and more sunglasses-inducing shades. Find a selection at True Fashionistas, the best designer consignment store.

FALL 2021 FASHION TRENDS: WHAT DO THOSE COLORS MEAN ANYWAY?

It’s fun to know which True Fashionista colors to wear this fall, but do you why? Since Pantone explains each one, we thought you needed to know to help influence your decision, so here goes, straight from their list (OK and Women’s Wear Daily):

Illuminating – Meant to evoke hope and optimism after 2020
Mykonos Blue – A hue evocative of the Aegean Sea
Leprechaun – You guessed it, the little green men of Irish folklore
Fuchsia Fedora – An alluring and flirtatious hot pink
Pale Rosette – Gentle and romantic
Fire Whirl – A vigorous red with a dynamic presence
Rhodoneteto – A dark, blue-based purple

FALL 2021 FASHION TRENDS: COMFY, COZY KNITWEAR

Be ready when cooler weather arrives. It may come a bit later here in southwest Florida, but a hint does show up eventually, and we’ll be all about the knitwear when it does.

Elevated, oversized cable-knit sweaters, dresses will be all the rage this season, with lines from Fendi, Chanel Etro, and more delivering snuggle-worthy looks. Anthropologie serves up a cable-knit pant set in simple white this season. (Winter whites, anyone?). Up your sweater game with a cardigan from Chanel, a St. John turtleneck, or possibly a nice bold color tie-in with a tie-dye cashmere sweater from The Elder Statesman.

Try out the sweater vest this fall in exciting patterns and shapes. This one was supposed to be all the rage last year, but does a Zoom call really show off the goods? We were all pretty much still reaching for our sweatpants at that point anyway. Whether you go classic “grandpa” waist length from the likes of Andersson Bell or drop it to the knees with Alice + Olivia’s Maibella belted sweater vest in bright, bold patterns, it’s a look you’ll like. We11done offers up an oversized appliqued cable-knit vest in lovely bold colors like rhodoneteto. Ganni also offers a sweater vest in bold multicolors and solids.

FALL 2021 FASHION TRENDS: THE SWEATER DRESS

OK, hold on for the True Fashionista sweater dress this fall, only a huge favorite. You can mix it up with footwear, too. The sweater dress, besides being super comfy, they look stylish with sneakers, heels, and boots. From casual to a date night, the sweater dress is a win-win. Hot styles include the 525 wide rib long cardigan, which doubles perfectly well as a dress, and Boutique Moschino’s ruffled metallic striped ribbed-knit dress.

If you’re ready to commit to something head to toe, look no further than Haute Hippie Diana Pointelle maxi sweater knit dress. This dress presents a striking image with long sleeves, high neck, and maxi floor length. If you’d rather keep the length more of a midi thing, the Joie Cedar striped knit midi dress offers a rustic mix of colors and comfort.

Can it get any True Fashionista than Diane von Furstenberg? The Edeline ribbed knit wrap dress works wonders for lengthening and slimming the body. This year’s model also includes a nice touch of braiding on the cuffs as a nice extra touch.

True Fashionistas consignment store, Naples, has an extensive Diane von Furstenberg collection in our ever-updated store. Shop online, in-store, or eBay to find authentic designer fashions at discounted prices.
