HISTORY OF DIANE VON FÜRSTENBERG

HISTORY OF DIANE VON FÜRSTENBERG

It’s time to focus the True Fashionistas spotlight on the well-rounded life of Diane von Fürstenberg. We’re confident that shoppers of True Fashionistas, Naples' best consignment store, would love to know about the inventor of the iconic wrap dress. As it turns out, she’s so much more than that. Ms. Von Furstenberg has spent the latter part of her life upping her Third Act game. As philanthropist and author, Ms. von Fürstenberg continues to this day in her efforts to make as much of a difference in the world as she did for fashion earlier in her fabulous life.

A few of the trendsetters who are leading crochet’s comeback include celebrities Kim and Khloe Kardashian, rapper Saweetie and designers such as Diane von Furstenburg and Christian Dior.

OUR NEW FAVORITE FACE MASKS

Face it, they’re here to stay for a long time. OMG out of the gate did we make a pandemic funny? We’ve been cooped up way too long. Yes, we’re talking about that hotly debated grim necessity, the face mask. Wouldn’t it just like the fashion world, though, to make the most of it and offer us some swank, True Fashionista choices? As it goes, in between the last time we discussed face masks and this moment, designers have been making the most of their quarantine time to come up with some pretty fashion-forward versions of that cloth covering we all have to deal with if we want to, you know, live healthy. At least now we can enjoy it just a smidge.

LOOKS THAT ROCK FROM A DISTANCE

Just think, only a few short months ago, we had never even heard the term “social distancing”. Now it’s a permanent fixture inside our subconscious along with face masks and handwashing. How the times have changed. Fashion, as usual, has adjusted with the times as well.  Outfits once viewed as eye-catchingly outrageous have become very True Fashionista on their own right. If it makes a statement from far away, it’s what you want to be seen in, from virtual runways to a modestly busy, fully-masked midtown setting.
